Schnauzer: Personality & Health Issues
Schnauzer:

The Schnauzer breed comes in three varieties: miniature, standard, and giant.  The oldest of the three is the medium sized standard dog.  Clever and animated, the Standard Schnauzer (Right, Top) is easy to instruct, and trainers find it an agreeable dog to work with.  However, the dog's high spirits demand that its owner be energetic and forceful.  While it is a pleasing pet, fond of children and play, the Schnauzer can occasionally be a bit obstinate and fussy.  Left outdoors on its own, it will instinctively hunt rats and other rodents.

The Giant Schnauzer (Right, Middle) is stronger and more robust than the standard dog.  Though calm and quiet, the Giant Schnauzer can have a wilful temperament.  They are known as one of the top 10 most effective guard dog breeds.

The Miniature Schnauzer (Right, Bottom) is a tiny replica of the Standard.  Affectionate, obedient, and an alert guard, the Miniature makes an ideal small companion dog.

Average Lifespan Of The Standard Schnauzer: 12-14 years.
Average Weight (Standard Variety): 33 lbs.
