Puli: Health Issues & Personality
Puli:

Now the most popular breed of dog in Hungary, the Puli served for centuries as a sheep dog on the plains of the Puszta region.  This dog's dense and shaggy coat is perfectly adapted for extremes of weather.  Its distinctive, corded appearance results from the natural tangling of a fine-haired undercoat and long, coarse outer coat.

The Puli's lively disposition is complemented by its quick and bouncy gait.  A courageous guard (one of the top 10 best guard dogs), the Puli also makes an affectionate and loyal companion.  But it is rather independent by nature and may occasionally be obstinate.  The Puli was brought to the U.S. in 1930, and officially recognized in 1936.
