Greyhound: Health Issues & Personality
Greyhound:
The Greyhound should be neither too thin nor too fat. Watch its weight and diet carefully, particularly if the hound is a racer. Give your Greyhound thick, solid food, including semi-fat meat. Avoid liquid or fatty mash, and starchy foods. Two or three light meals a day are preferable to one heavy one. The diet should be rich in calcium, vitamins, and minerals. Use a soft brush on the coat. To give the coat a lustre, use a piece of chamois. Take your Greyhound for daily walks on a leash or, better still, use a bicycle. Let the mature Greyhound gallop freely once or twice a week.
Average Lifespan Of The Greyhound: 10-15 years.

Hemophilia: Hemophilia is a disorder in which blood will not clot properly to aid in the healing of wounds. A dog with a mild form or hemophilia might never even need treatment, unless excessing bleeding occurs due to trauma or surgery. Unfortunately, dogs with severe hemophilia often die from uncontrollable bleeding problems. Once you know your dog is affected, your vet will help you with managing this lifelong disorder. This will include being vigilant for signs of bleeding, and occasional blood transfusions.
