Chinese Crested Dog: Personality & Health Issues
Chinese Crested Dog:
The Chinese Crested Dog comes in two varieties: the Powderpuff, with a full coat of soft silky fur, and the hairless variety (pictured at right). The breed has ancient origins, yet was not officially recognized in America until 1991.
Your Chinese Crested will be a playful and sensitive companion, devoted to his family and willing to please. He will be very friendly with other pets, children, and even strangers. Both varieties have minimal exercise requirements, in fact a short walk or playful indoor romp should be sufficient for most dogs. This breed is one of the top 10 best apartment dogs.
The Chinese Crested has become more and more popular with dog show enthusiasts over the years, but the breed has been slower to attract average pet owners. Some may find the hairless variety less than attractive, but it more than makes up for this in personality!
Average Lifespan Of The Chinese Crested:

Inherited Health Disorders:
Skin:

Teeth:
The Hairless can have irregular dentition and thinner enamel, which can lead to tooth loss.
